On Saturday, May 12, 2007, the Palm Beach Radio
Control Association club, held their first annual Warbirds Over the Glades
fly-in at their new field at the western end of Atlantic Ave in Delray Beach.
This new club was formed when three clubs in the Palm Beach area joined into
one club to share the new site at the Palm Beach Downs Park. There you will
find a beautiful 600' asphalt strip alongside a 600' grass runway. 39 pilots
from all over South Florida joined in the celebration of the PBRCA's first
fly-in. Breakfast and lunch was served free to all registered pilots. A
couple of spectacular crashes, one a mid air, spoiled a near perfect day in
the glades. The TCRCAM was well represented by Don Brodasky, Larry King,
Jacque Mittendorf, Budd Inziello, Howard Leipzig, and Jerry Wickline, who put
on a very nice airshow for the spectators with a four ship PT-19 gaggle which
drew applause from the crowd. Howard took home the Presidents Award for his
Ziroli A1 Skyraider. Congratulations to the Palm Beach Radio Control
Association for hosting a great event.
